I haven't watched it yet but I will, I wanted to share it with you though.DigitalKindergartenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03134909243923628565noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8394037286947595820.post-65662903439526298852011-03-18T12:35:28.461-07:002011-03-18T12:35:28.461-07:00What a great question Beth! Your question sent me on a fact finding mission (aided by me being home sick today). If you go to the link below the author suggests that with the iPad 2 you won't need an interactive whiteboard- you'll be able to project on the board and have students touch the iPad, so really, I guess, no you wouldn't need an interactive board with the iPad.

That being said, I do really like my mimio and there are things I use it for that the iPad can't do (yet).

However, if it came down to buying an interactive whiteboard or two iPads, the iPads would win hands down. The reason being the interactive board is still a whole group activity and honestly, sometimes difficult to use. The iPad is so easy- for me and students- and more importantly, used by the students individually... Which is much more meaningful than watching a classmate manipulate the whiteboard.

Of course with the interactive board you can use flash websites like starfall.
Still, I would rather have more iPads than the interactive board.

I really want the ipad2 even more now that I know you can hook it up and display everything on the projector. If I find a teacher who does use the mimio with their iPad I will let you know.
http://www.ravepubs.com/rave2011/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=4785:apple-kills-the-interactive-whiteboard-with-ipad-2&catid=153:rave-education&Itemid=186DigitalKindergartenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03134909243923628565noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8394037286947595820.post-12417720139110363722011-03-17T14:54:35.877-07:002011-03-17T14:54:35.877-07:00Hi Sue -
